Tidal Basin Cherry Blossoms  |   Heather & Eric   |   DC Spring Engagement

Feels like I just saw these two! Oh wait…I did!

Just about a month ago now, I met Heather & Eric for their gorgeous evening proposal on Teddy Roosevelt Island (click here to read their proposal story!). Because they both live in DC, they thought it would be really special to do their engagement photos during the cherry blossom bloom, so, with a bit of planning, rescheduling, and a VERY early wake up, we found ourselves at the Tidal Basin for sunrise one morning during PEAK BLOOM!

It was amazing.

It has been a few years since I’d been down to see the DC cherry blossoms, and I completely forgot how magical it is. There is a reason people travel from all over the world to see these trees in bloom. Eric and Heather complimented perfectly with their Spring pastels, and we spent the morning wandering around the Basin, dodging the crowds, and snuggling amongst the flowers. You can’t even tell how cold it was – poor Heather had blue hands and feet by the time we finished. The things we go through for the perfect shot!
