Lavender Summer Session
Summer Family Session | Seven Oaks Lavender Farm | Catlett, Virginia
I met this sweet family for our lavender summer family session back in June.
Our first family session together was almost five years ago! With their oldest about to graduate high school this year, it felt like the right time for updated photos, and they wanted to recreate it at Seven Oaks Lavender Farm. I’m so glad we did, it was so much fun! Some of my favorite parts included their family heirloom quilt, the crocs and bare feet combo, and their pastels and flowy summer sundresses.
It was hot, but we ended the evening with popsicles in the parking lot, and the blooms still looked fabulous! For those of you who have never been, the lavender season is a short one—the blooms really only look their best from mid-June to the beginning of July. So on years that I offer these lavender sessions, I’m often super busy for a couple weeks, and then I get a break that comes with the sweltering hot August weather. This year was no exception. I missed being in the field the past few years because of my pregnancies…and finally got my lavender mint lotion and shortbread cookies. 🙂

This is such a beautiful session, especially the details like the family heirloom quilt and the flowy sundresses!
