Winter Family Session   |  At-Home Newborn   |   Fairfax, Virginia

I had such a beautiful time at this cozy Virginia newborn session with this sweet family.

Jordan asked me earlier this winter if I could come to their home for a newborn session celebrating the birth of their second son. I was so excited. There is truly nothing better as a photographer than spending these cold, slow months documenting families in their snuggly, personal spaces. Add babies and cute pets to the mix, and it’s almost too much to handle!

I love the primary colors in their home, and they complimented them by wearing similar outfit colors. Baby’s big brother was so excited to show me his new sibling…and all this favorite books, and all his favorite toys and stuffed animals, and his cat. It was the sweetest. We let baby and big brother set the pace of the shoot, moving between rooms, pausing for a snack or tickle break. It was so relaxed and fun, and I am so happy with the shots that we got. At-home sessions can be so great because everyone is comfortable and there is no rush.
