Tammara | Wollam Gardens | Jeffersonton, VA
Tammara asked to do a Wollam Gardens portrait session with me to celebrate her 30th birthday.
As she said “I want this to be a ceremony for my life and reaching 30. A ceremony to celebrate myself and who I am becoming. Earthy, playful, yet peaceful, lots of greenery & flowers.” Literally a dream.
Her sister, Tiphanie, and I did something similar a couple of years ago. I thought our location that we used back then, Wollam Gardens, with its lush fields and greenhouses, would make for a perfect backdrop for Tammara’s as well. They each took photos in different seasons, so the sessions look completely different!
We had really dense fog to start our morning, and it made for such soft, yet dramatic, backdrops. I loved how it played off the reflection of the pond and the tops of the trees. She had a really beautiful neutral dress on that perfectly accentuated the soft Fall foliage. It was so much fun getting creative with her shooting in various spots I don’t normally get to shoot at with my families because of time. The hydrangeas were shifting from their Summer blooms into their dried fall bunches, and they were really showing off. We used them in many different ways/angles toward the end of our time together.
Thank you, Tammara, for asking me to document such a monumental year of your life! Shooting with you and your family is always a pleasure! I hope our paths cross again soon.
