Wollam Gardens Maternity Session

What a crazy time we are in right now.

Shoots this summer have looked very different from any other year so far. Because of COVID and being in my 34th week of pregnancy, I’ve been going slow and steady through these warm months. My shoot with Sarah & David was my first one back since quarantine. It felt so great to be back shooting; their maternity session was a dream.

It was such a good surprise hearing from Sarah! We were in yearbook together in high school, so I was looking forward to catching up. Funny enough, while emailing, we realized we were in the exact same month of our first pregnancies!

Sarah wanted lots and lots of flowers for her maternity session, so we decided on Wollam Gardens as our location, and it was perfect!

There was a very dense layer of fog draped over the farm when I arrived the morning of our shoot. Because of all the recent rain, everything was so lush and green. The fields were bustling with Wollam Gardens staff making bouquets for their roadside stand and working with the flowers in the fields and greenhouses. By the time we began taking photos, the fog had lifted but still created this beautiful hazy backdrop, which mimicked the naturally bright, hazy backdrop of the greenhouses, where we took many of our photos.

Sarah is such a stunning mama-to-be. Her dress choices accented the surrounding lush green landscape perfectly. David is in the video/photo field, so it was fun talking photo gear with him. I was definitely jealous when he whipped out an old Polaroid camera to take a couple vintage shots of the two of them during our session!

Sarah and David are welcoming their little one later this summer! Congrats you guys, it was so good seeing you, I’m so excited to experience the parenthood journey together!!!
