I traveled to downtown Bethesda last week for an at-home newborn session with this fun family of five!
Little Ford arrived a few weeks earlier than expected, so our previously-scheduled maternity session turned into a newborn session instead. It was such a great surprise being able to meet him in person!
Mom is outnumbered by a bunch of boys in this house! Ford’s two big brothers were proud to show him off during our time together. They smothered him with kisses in between wrestle sessions…as boys do. There were so many family photos lining the walls of their home, it is amazing how alike all three boys were as newborns.
We had a pretty rainy week, so it was dark, but the master bedroom had beautiful afternoon light and the blue and white accented comforter complimented their outfits perfectly. We spent our time together taking photos and getting to know each other. Ford was sound asleep for most of the session. He was so content, but if Mom or Dad put him down for even a second, the teeny baby cries started and continued until he was scooped up again. He just wanted to make sure he didn’t miss out on any of the fun! 🙂
We got a lot of Ford’s detail shots while he was rocking in his rocking chair with Mom instead of laying in the crib like I typically would. That is my favorite part about these at-home sessions, each one is so different and we take cues from baby the whole time!
A big warm welcome to baby Ford! Scroll down for photos of teeny fingers and toes and some of our favorite images from our session together.
