I have been SO behind on blogging, I’m embarrassed to admit I’m just now getting to our 2019 lavender portrait recap post…but better late than never!
The photo season last June at Seven Oaks Lavender Farm was our best yet. I know I say that every year, but it’s true, every year gets better and better.
This was my fifth year holding lavender sessions, I started back in 2015. Spending so much time on the farm during photo season, as well as working here during off-season, I really feel like I have an intimate understanding of the land. I feel at ease with the light, no matter the weather or time of day. I feel confidant with posing and efficient with my editing, and I really think it shows in this year’s images.
This season, we had very little rain and temps were not terribly hot. We had some of the most amazing families and couples visit for photos – some new, some who’ve made it tradition to come every year. There is so much hard work that goes into getting the farm season-ready. We put in all of that time and effort so that the pride we feel for the farm can be shared and enjoyed by all of you as well. There is really no better feeling for us than seeing the fields filled with people. It makes it all worth it.
I have collected my favorite images from both the lavender portrait sessions and the lavender festival minis. The flower crowns, sun dresses, twirling, laughing and snuggling make my heart so happy. Thank you so much to everyone who came out for photos, the season would truly not be the same without you.
If you loved these photos, you can find recaps from all of our other seasons here – 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.
