Every time I see Tyler & Chloe for photos, it pours. Their proposal ended in a torrential downpour, we finished up their engagement session just before heavy storms…literally all of their sessions have ended in rain. So naturally, their wedding did too.
If they say rain is good luck – they certainly have all the luck on their side!
I met these two years ago through my sister, all of us went to JMU together (scroll down for Duke Dog cake toppers). I was also able to meet their family and friends at their proposal, so I was excited to see everyone again on the day of their wedding.
Chloe & Tyler’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen so much love in one room.
The day started at Chloe’s family home in Ashburn, Virginia surrounded by the hair and makeup team and all of her girls. There was something so personal about taking her detail and getting-ready shots in the home she grew up in. Her clutch is one of the prettiest I’ve seen and the hydrangeas she used in her bouquet were amazing (and the exact color of her eyes!). Everything complimented perfectly.
Both Tyler & Chloe did a first look with their puppy – Bailey was so well-behaved and was wiggly with excitement to see them both! After a first look with Chloe’s father, we made our way to their church, Ashburn Presbyterian. They tearfully read notes from one another behind a chapel door and lit a unity candle during the ceremony while a violin played softly in the background. Seeing Tyler’s eyes well up as Chloe walked down the aisle put everyone else in tears.
After the ceremony, we made our way to Whitehall Estate. I don’t know how we managed to do it, but we were able to take all of their formal shots OUTSIDE before the showers started. I’m so glad we did. Whitehall has endless backdrops and because we took their engagement photos there, it was great to reminisce on how far they’d come as a couple in just a year’s time.
The reception seemed to end just as fast as it started. They laughed, they cried, they sang, they danced. The love was so tangible. We ended the evening with a sparkler sendoff as the skies opened up.
Both of them were so at ease throughout the day, never showing hints of stress or nervousness. When I asked them about it, Chloe smiled and said very matter-of-factly, “Of course. Getting married was the easiest decision we’ve ever made.”
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hansen! I was so happy to share a small part of your love story with you!
And a big thanks to their incredible vendor team!
