I met this family for the first time last month at their Crystal City DC home for an at-home newborn session. They had just welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Abby, into their family. Both parents and big brother were thrilled about her arrival and so excited to introduce me to her!

To start, this may be THE prettiest nursery I have photographed to date. The perfect pink and floral backdrop. Mama said she was so excited picking out girl clothing and decor after having a boy the first time around. The wallpaper made such a beautiful accent wall and the pink crib and rest of the decor complimented it perfectly. It’s the little details that I really loved – the pom-pom tassels lining the bottom of her crib, the little stuffed mermaid in the corner of the rocking chair, gold mirror and side table perfectly matching the handles on the dresser.

Little Abby was so cute. She was wide awake for a small part of our session, and then fast asleep for the rest.

There is really nothing quite like the quiet rawness of a newborn session in the familiar home environment. It has become one of my very favorite things to document. We had such a fun and relaxing time together.
