As many of you know, this year was the first photo collaboration between Seana Shuchart Photography and Wollam Gardens, and it was a great success!
I met a few of the Wollam staff members back in the winter to pick a weekend for Spring portraits and to plan out how and what we were going to offer. Planning a photo event that far in advance is hard, but necessary. On one hand, we have to mark the date on the calendar before all their weekends book with weddings, but on the other hand, we could not be 100% sure what would be in bloom for the sessions because it all depends on the weather early in the year.
It turns out, we chose the perfect weekend because the peonies, icelandic poppies, stock and a gorgeous perennial flowering bush I am forgetting the name of, were all in peak bloom. I could have shot portraits at a hundred different locations on the farm because of the bloom variety. It was so beautiful, and it made the photos turn out so varied and unique for each group! A few families opted to purchase handmade flower crowns – the photos of the kids in those crowns are the CUTEST!
We had families and couples come out during the morning and evening on both Saturday and Sunday. There was quite a bit of precipitation in the weekend forecast, but luckily, we only got caught in one small rain storm, which cleared to the biggest rainbow arching over the entire farm.
Thanks again to all of the groups who came out for our first-ever Wollam Gardens Spring Bloom portrait sessions! It was so hard to choose favorites, but here are a few of the very best – I hope you love them as much as we do!
