Leesburg Spring Wedding

Rust Manor House | Ashley & Jon | Virginia Spring Wedding

I kicked off my 2019 weddings with Ashley & Jon’s beautiful Leesburg Spring wedding at Rust Manor House last month!

This was such a fun wedding for me because I knew Ashley & Jon long before they were engaged. Ashley and I grew up on the same street from elementary through high school. We collected quite a few memories together over the years between mornings at the bus stop, petsitting, birthday parties, soccer practices and sleepovers. She met Jon at our middle school in 7th grade English class, and their love story blossomed from there.

Their wedding day was overcast with perfectly mild Spring temperatures. They started the day with a relaxing morning getting ready in Rust Manor’s bridal suites. I loved the fun addition of Ashley’s sparkly tennis shoes under her elegant strapless lace wedding dress! During their first look, Jon surprised Ashley with an original song he wrote himself about their first date. It was such an intimate moment and she was so surprised. As soon as he finished, she said, “I only wish I was able to get that on film!” Little did she know, we had planned a hidden go-pro weeks in advance to document the entire thing!

Their ceremony was beautiful and the vows they read aloud had guests tearing in their seats. The ceremony was followed by a reception filled with dancing, speeches, laughter, toasts and shots. We were able to sneak away for a few minutes to get some intimate photos of the two of them in the field behind Rust. Although we didn’t get the golden hour sunset we were hoping for, we got some beautiful dusk portraits and it was a lovely moment to take a breather and relax together before going back to celebrate with friends and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Vonphakdy, thank you so much for letting me share your special day with you! I hope these photo bring back memories for years to come, and I cannot WAIT to see photos from your trip to New Zealand later this year! Congratulations!!!
