I visited the Elkridge Furnace Inn back in October for a venue tour and I am finally getting around to blogging their beautiful space!
The Inn is a short 5-minute drive from our apartment down a few back roads. The restored 18th-century manor home sits on 11-acres on the Patapsco River in Howard County and offers an elegant, colonial backdrop for both weddings and dining. The first description that came to mind as I was walking the grounds was – magical wooded fairy garden.
The property is amazing!
Their outdoor ceremony space is a scenic overlook surrounded by greenery that sits on the banks of the Patapsco. To get there, you walk gorgeous bricked paths with views of the house, old wooden barn, stone-lined flower beds and lush green spaces. Gardens surround their white reception tent, which all sides can be opened to allow in all the breeze and natural light.
The interior of the main historic home includes the dining area, wedding welcome room, bar, three-room bridal suite and a separate groom’s room with a private patio and staircase leading to the bar. The space has an old and elegant feel with lots of beautiful natural light, especially in the bridal suite. Full-length mirrors and large paintings line the walls and welcome you as you move about the house.
Across the street a second historic house, ceremony site and reception space provide a second option for smaller wedding parties. The surrounding gardens and greenhouses are home to flowers and vegetables used by the chef in their seasonal menu.
Scroll down for photos of the gorgeous wedding space at the Elkridge Furnace Inn! Sarah, thank you for taking me on a tour of the grounds and showing me all the beautiful backdrops that the Inn has to offer – I hope to be back again soon! 🙂
