Earlier this year, I met Heather & Eric at Seven Oaks Lavender Farm’s first annual Summer Bloom Festival. We had fun running around the farm battling the extreme heat and taking photos in the flowers. Fast forward a few months – Heather contacted me again this fall for holiday photos. Both of them live in DC, so it felt natural to use the monuments as our backdrop. We decided on the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin as the Lincoln Memorial is currently covered in scaffolding. We had the most freezing and windy day, it could not have been more opposite from the first time we saw each other! This is why I am such a believer in seasonal portraits. Each month – the light, the weather, the color – is so different from the next. I love the variation.
These two are fantastic and such a pleasure to work with. I left our session feeling as though I just spent the afternoon with close friends. They stayed calm throughout the wind gusts and had fun playing along with my posing ideas.
Enjoy their photos! Heather and Eric, looking forward to seeing you both again soon!
