This was such a special session.

Gopi contacted me late last year, and she had a special request for a spring session. She wanted to get photos taken with her mother, Nancy. They had never had professional photos taken together. She wanted to surprise her as a Christmas gift and use the shoot as a way to document the special bond between the two of them, while incorporating the essence of India – the place where Nancy adopted Gopi when she was young.

We took the photos at one of their favorite locations in Alexandria, Fort Ward park. They had a special request to  incorporate her Grandmother’s engagement ring and 40th anniversary ruby as a way to pay homage to her, so you will see some details shots of them both throughout the shoot. We were so hoping for some bright spring blooms, but the snow and the cold beginning of spring had other plans for us! No matter, Gopi & Nancy brought those spring colors with them!

There is just so much beauty here! I had a blast with you both and it was a privilege to hear and document your story. Enjoy!
